How Do I Replace My Toyota Key Case?

Replacing your Toyota key case is quick and easy. All you need is a small Phillips head screwdriver (or similar tool), and the process takes around one minute.

1. Press the button to flip out the key blade.
2. Remove the small screw from the back of the remote. On some models, this screw may be hidden beneath the Toyota logo.
3. Insert a small screwdriver into the groove where the key blade folds away and gently pry the case apart.
4. Transfer the circuit board, transponder chip, and transponder cover into the new key case.
5. If your existing key blade is still in good condition, install it into the new case. If it is worn or damaged, have the included blank key blade cut by a locksmith.
6. Clip the new case together, reinstall the screw, and test the remote to ensure all buttons and functions work correctly.
